Dry Eye

Dry eye is an exceedingly common cause of blurred vision and ocular discomfort.

It becomes increasingly common with age but may also occur in the setting of eyelid inflammation and malposition, systemic immune disorders and certain skin conditions. Dry eye may also be exacerbated by certain medications and is common after some eye surgery – especially in the first 3-6 months after laser vision correction.

Our surgeons have a long experience in the assessment and treatment of dry eye diseases. Treatment modalities may be as simple as lid scrubs and dietary supplements but may also involve eye medication (drops, gels and ointments), procedures to reduce tear drainage and occasionally surgery to protect the eye and improve eyelid position.
