Tim Steele is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with a special interest in cataract surgery, laser vision correction, pterygium surgery, eyelid and lacrimal surgery.
Tim has a long surgical experience and has performed more than 10,000 cataract surgeries in both public and private settings.
Tim’s practice also includes glaucoma management including MIGS (minimally invasive glaucoma surgery) and trabeculectomy. Tim is experienced in the treatment of retinal disease with intravitreal injections.
Tim grew up in the Bayside suburbs of Melbourne and studied medicine at Monash University where he graduated with first class honours as the top final year student. He completed his ophthalmology training at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in East Melbourne.
Tim has undertaken further subspeciality training in oculoplastic surgery in the United Kingdom and holds postgraduate qualifications in refractive surgery from the University of Sydney.
Tim is actively involved in the RANZCO vocational training program, teaching trainee ophthalmologists in clinics and in surgery.
When not busy at work Tim enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, cycling and making music with his friends.
